Joyfood meals are sterilized, i.e. preserved in very high temperatures. This makes them safe to store in room temperature and gives them a long shelf life. Our meals contain no chemical preservatives.

Everything begins with preparing the meals according to the recipe. The ingredients are carefully selected, cooked, placed on trays and sealed. All ingredients are sourced from local suppliers. Each ingredient is tested and has the required documentation.
Sealing is crucial, since even the tiniest slit could cause the food to spoil.
Our meals are packed on trays made with high-barrier packaging film which, just like glass, reduces the impact of the outside environment on the product. The packing film is also neutral for the food and completely safe for consumers. High quality of the packaging allows you to store Joyfood meals in room temperature and heat them in a microwave oven. IMPORTANT! Our trays are 100% recyclable.
An autoclave is a large pressure boiler which heats up its contents to very high temperature for a precisely specified period of time. High temperature and pressure eliminate all bacteria, yeast, mould and other microorganisms that could spoil the food or cause illness.
Once sterilization is complete, the packagings are rapidly cooled in order to stop the cooking process and preserve the taste and texture of the meal. The meals are usually cooled with cold water or air.
Starting with the selection of ingredients, on each stage of the production process the production, safety and quality standards are strictly monitored and controlled. Each packaging is carefully checked to confirm air-tightness and sterilization. Our products undergo additional verification with metal detector, weight control on scales, and visual inspection. If a meal fails to meet the standards, it is discarded. The meals which successfully undergo verification are then placed in collective packages and transferred for distribution, and eventually find their way to the plates of our clients.

We test our ingredients on a regular basis. All components undergo rigorous quality audits and have the required documentation. Our products are checked for the presence of foreign bodies, microbiological safety, air-tightness, organoleptic properties and visual appearance.
